Emailed our good friend Gary from Halcrow Barry as is it now three weeks so they should have a decision on the T1 Service Station near Tara. Also asked whether...
The damage continues to the Fairy Trees at Tara despite our best efforts to raise awareness since the major intervention we undertook at Summer Solstice 2014. We have tried to get the message out there via community groups, radio time, articles and letters in local papers etc. but some people still think they have the right to do what they like in their “spiritual” pursuits…
Your help is required in enlightening people as to the damage they do by hammering in coins, hanging plastics, synthetics, shoes, baby soothers, nappies, condoms, metal, tampons, underwear etc on the branches – thus suffocating the trees. Whole branches continue to fall off under the weight of it all, especially with the extra weight of the torrential rain we’ve been having.
Why not get your friends together and help to do regular clean ups- or just do some yourself. It would be greatly appreciated. Gloves, blades, metal cutters, black bin bags required.
The Tara Skryne Valley is a beautiful area to visit and it holds a special place as the cultural centre of Irish heritage and history.
If you are out and about in the valley and you see something that concerns you or you are curious about e.g. surveying, diggers etc, please let us know so we can investigate.
It may be something that we're already aware of but on the other hand, it may not, so the sooner we're advised of any activities the better.
We appreciate your support. Thank you!
